suriphobia?
January 30, 2008
This is a kind shared blog, we all study full time (wow, that sounds more impressive written down) and it’s my first attempt, so be nice! I don’t know what’s expected. My initial impressions of word press is that it seems like most of the blogs are rants about the us presidential election, people ranting about religion or how amazing Ireland apparently is, but it all seems to be a bit less spotty than MySpace…
As a technical note I should say that I’m writing this on my pc (no laughs, please) in a room far too warm considering the nasty letter we received from our energy suppler (whom for legal reasons we cannot name, except to say that they supply gas and are British) about the rise in energy prices.
However I am kind of excited that my Word 2007 has its own blog writing option, so far I’m not a fan of this version, I don’t really see any advantages of it, I find its reliance on icons patronising-I can understand words and drop-down menu’s… But my main reason for hating it is that it’s endnotes option (a standard feature and academic tool) screws up after the 85th endnote, as I found out on my dissertation. for all you I Open Office people out there, yes I do apologise for not having installed Linux yet, in my defence only use Word for its spellchecker, even though google tends to have more luck at guessing my spelling…
on a different note I saw I mouse in our bathroom last night: i would have screamed like a girl, but it was past midnight and all my housemates were asleep, so instead I shook like I’d witnesses something far more traumatic than a small mouse. Perhaps I’m suffering from some form of suriphobia because I couldn’t sleep for a long time afterwards…
i’m going to go and find a torch and search round the house for more mouse holes now, I wonder what size holes those little monsters can squeese themselves into…
